2026 Commencement Ceremony

CCC's annual commencement ceremony in the spring celebrates the graduates of our GED, Adult High School, and degree and certificate programs.

2026 ceremony details

Weather

This will be an outdoor event and will happen "rain or shine."

• Guests and graduates will be walking on uneven surfaces. High heels are not recommended.

Time

The ceremony begins promptly at 4 p.m. Plan for the ceremony to last at least two and a half hours.

• Students need to arrive by 3 p.m.; no later than 3:45 p.m.
• Doors open for guest seating at 3 p.m.

Registration

Registration for the ceremony is required!

• An email will be sent to all eligible students when registration opens in April. 
• Clackamas Community College has partnered with Tassel for registration and ticketing.

Accomodations

ADA accommodation information will be collected for graduates and guests at the time of registration.

Seating and ticketing

Seating is limited at the ceremony location, and guest tickets are required for the ceremony.

• Graduates will be allowed five guest tickets.
  • Children under 1 years old do not need a ticket
• Graduates do not need a ticket.
• Graduates will request the number of tickets when they register for the ceremony
• Tickets are electronic. 
  • Graduates are responsible for giving their guests their tickets. Screenshots of tickets will not be accepted.
• There is no cost for tickets.
• Extra tickets will not be allocated.
  • If you need an extra ticket, your friends can request one for your additional guest if they do not use their five tickets. 

Caps and gowns

Caps and gowns are free.

• Further cap and gown information is available when graduates register for the ceremony.

Recognition cords

Honor cords and honor societies information:

• Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through Winter 2025 or the last completed term will be notated in the Ceremony Program and given a gold honor cord to wear at the ceremony.
  • Students can check their cumulative GPA through Self-Service under Unofficial Transcript.
• Phi Theta Kappa Students
  • Stoles can be ordered at  PTK's website.
  • All PTK member questions email phitk@clackamas.edu
• Delta Alpha Pi Students
  • Blue and Gold honor cords for active members can be picked up by contacting Felicia Arce.
  • Delta Alpha Pi member questions email Felicia Arce at felicia.arce@clackamas.edu
• Veteran’s Cord
  • Verified student veterans are eligible to receive the Veteran’s Cord.
  • Veterans with questions regarding verified status or to pick up their cord can email vetinfo@clackamas.edu 
• Disability Cords
  • Honoring DRC students.
  • Questions or to pick up your cord, contact drc@clackamas.edu

Degrees and Certificates

• Students do not receive their diploma or certificate at the ceremony.
  • An empty diploma cover will be given to you as you walk across the stage.
  • If you have not received your diploma or certificate already, it will be mailed to you. If you are spring applicant for graduation, be sure to check your myClackamas email account after the ceremony for when it will be mailed.

Reminders

If you have not applied for graduation yet, you need to complete the Application for Graduation form online through Self-Service to have your degree/certificate awarded officially by the college, even if you do not attend the ceremony. This is the official process for notifying CCC that you are finishing your program. This is separate from registering to attend the Commencement Ceremony. Review the applying for graduation steps to complete this process. 

The deadlines to apply for graduation for each term are as follows:

• Spring 2026: May 8, 2026
• Summer 2026: May 8, 2026 in order to make it into the ceremony program

Be respectful and have fun!

• Ensure proper travel time to the college for the ceremony for you and your guests.
• Plan on you and your guests to stay for the entire event to give all graduates their time to shine to celebrate their accomplishments and allow their loved ones to enjoy seeing them walk across the stage.
• Make your dinner reservations for a night of celebration!
